James Suckling A highly consistent bottling since 1982. Aromas of black and blue fruit, graphite, wet stones, licorice, dried flowers, cedar, cigar box and earth. The palate is mid-weighted with taut, firm tannins and bright acidity. Delicious now and for years to come, with lovely freshness. A fine example of Oakville. Drink or hold.
Wine Spectator A lovely gush of red and black currant preserves spills forth, laced with licorice, savory and burnished cedar notes, along with a subtle tug of earth at the tail end. Rock solid.
Vinous The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is a very classy, polished wine. Floral aromatics and brisk acids lift a core of red-toned fruit. This mid-weight Cabernet is all charm, all finesse. Drink it over the next decade or so.
