DESCRIPTION
Named for the AxR rootstock that much of modern California was planted on, and made by Jean Hoefliger at the base of Spring Mountain. Roughly three quarters Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, twelve months in French oak, about 40% new. Dark cherry and tobacco with thyme, rosemary, cedar and chocolate, then a dense, velvety palate of plum, mocha and graphite. Fresh tannins at the end.
