IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Tasting:
There is a considerable difference in the style of Chardonnay grown from these two plots. Blended, they yield a seductive wine that is a worthy representative of its appellation. Very aromatic, with notes of white flowers and ripe white fruits. The mouth is both rounded and mineral, set off by a vivacity that signals lightness and youth. A Bourgogne Chardonnay should be drunk within two or three years of its being bottled.
Thomas Morey is one of the most talented winemakers in Chassagne-Montrachet. This beautiful Bourgogne Chardonnay is grown and made entirely in that famous village, and has the richness and elegance that are its trademark.
Aromas of white flowers; highlights of flintiness; rich, yet also lively and mineral.
Fruit comes from two plots of vines in Chassagne-Montrachet, the oldest of which was planted in 1989.
Amazing value for a wine from a producer of this quality in this village.
Drink up to five years from release.
A perfect match for many fish and chicken dishes.
All barrel-fermented, with about 50% new oak, this is a different style than some of the other Burgundies from Vineyard Brands, showing more earth and wood, which tends to make the fruit less up-front, more reserved and measured. This wine exhibits hints of peach and honeyed citrus in a medium-bodied, earthy style. Drink it over the next several years.
