Deep red in color. Fine and polished on the nose with leafy and herbaceous aromas balanced with berry and light floral notes. Vibrant, spicy and silky on the palate with flavors of ripe cherry and hedgerow fruits. Lingering peppery finish.

Producer Description

In 1998, we returned to Rioja more experienced and loaded with enthusiasm. We wanted to rediscover the taste of Rioja that, for us, can only come from the best places, those towns with a long tradition of viticulture.We used our intuition in choosing our base and over the years we acquired small parcels in the area in order to produce a wine that best expresses the characteristics of the town of Lanziego. Today Lanzaga covers 15 hectares, an old-time model on a human scale, as we imagine to be the famed Riojas of the 18th century.We bottled what we believe is the essence of the town as the best way to understand the true value of Rioja. One of our greatest obsessions in Rioja was to find the plots, the exceptional vineyards with the characteristics needed to produce great wine. Las Beatas, Tabue9rniga, El Velado, La Estrada are the product of this obsession. For many years we worked the vineyards to bring out their true value. Time and the wine have shown them to be extraordinary.
