Silver Palm Pinot Noir 2014 |
Our Pinot Noir is rich and savory with notes of dark fruits and juicy red fruit flavors. It is rich and round on the palate and is a fantastic easy drinking wine as well as a food pairing wine. 2014 will be noted as one of the earliest vintages in quite some time, but it will also go down as one of the best. Challenged by drought and significant heat, the grapes created lush and full bodied wines that will be fantastic to drink right away and also will age well.
VINEYARDS: The grapes for Silver Palm Pinot Noir come exclusively from California’s Central Coast AVA, which spans from San Francisco County to Santa Barbara County. This region is known for producing beautiful Pinot Noir due to the cool coastal winds and fog which allows the grapes to ripen slowly on the vine, concentrating flavors.
VINTAGE NOTES: On the heels of wonderful vintages in 2012 and 2013, winemaking teams are thrilled for another excellent year, even despite the ongoing drought. Moderate temperatures with minimal rain allowed for even ripening, and a mild winter and spring caused early bud break. 2014 is promising to produce wonderful wines.
TASTING NOTES: Our Pinot Noir is smooth and fruit forward, a true classic Pinot Noir. Flavors of dark cherry and raspberry are balanced by a hint of spice and toast on the finish. This wine will drink well on its own or be the perfect accompaniment to different cuisines – from cedar plank salmon to bone in pork chops.
