Produced from vines that are up to 50 years in age, planted in Bonnes-Mares of the Chambolle-Musigny commune; 16.24 hectares (44 acres) under production; sub-soil consists of limestone pavement and white marl, which underlie red clay-flint soils of 40 cm. (15 3/4 in.) depth. The soil is light and gravelly, with origins dating back to the Jurassic period.
