Lungarotti Torre di Giano 2016 |
The name recalls the Roman origins of Torgiano, which is testified to by the tower dedicated to Janus (Giano), the double‐headed god. Produced exclusively with free-run juice, after brief cryomaceration, it is vinified in stainless steel at low temperature. Kept on the fine lees until bottling and at low temperature during the entire process.
This bright and juicy blend of vermentino, grechetto and trebbiano offers flavors of white grapefruit edged with notes of lemon peel and dried oregano. The 2016 Bianco di Torgiano Torre di Giano is a terrific option for appetizers or outdoor lunches. The wine has just enough fruity zest, with peach, citrus, kiwi and tropical fruit, to keep your attention. Yet, it also leaves just as easily as it comes, making for a solid yet informal ride.
