Lo Cirerer De Cal Besso 2016 |
93 / 100 From Critic Scores.
The cherry tree is made in a small estate vineyard. Grapes mostly Garnache, Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Carignan and Tempratillo aged 6 months in oak barrels. Full-bodied fresh and fruity with a lingering finish.
Fresh and fruity on the nose, dark cherry, subtly spicy with a forest herby edge. Rounded and easy-drinking, medium bodied, fruity with rich flavours, showing excellent freshness towards its finish
This magnificent red wine stands out for its freshness and fruity aromas. Round and very fresh on the palate, light and easy on the palate, with a very pleasant fruity character. Friendly and pleasant attack, aromas of red fruit, spices. Palate with a pleasant texture and a good final persistence.

Wine was good BUT........
I had 4 bad corks which disintegrated into the wine in the 12 bottle case. I wrote to Wine Chateau when I discovered the first one and they immediately credited me with one bottle for which I was grateful as it wasn't drinkable. I did not write about the last 3 as I used a strainer to catch the wine sediment and was able to drink the wine despite the inconvenience. I have no issue with Wine Chateau as I think they handled everything promptly and fairly -- but the supplier of this wine is very questionable to me.
