Lelie Van Saron Chardonnay Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley 2020

The nose shows bright notes of lemon and lime, with some hints of apple and a touch of toasty oak.  On the palate, the wine is fresh and minerally, balanced with ripe notes of lemon, melon, peach and tropical fruits. 

The oak is well judged and adds subtle toast and a bit of spice, and the length of finish is impressive.  A really lovely wine and a winemaker we'll be following with interest.
