Juan Gil Monastrell Blue Label 2017 |
This wine is made from Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes fermented in small tanks of 5 Tons followed by malolactic fermentation in new French and American oak barrels. Here the separate wines are aged about 18 months then blended and rested for several weeks before bottling. The result is a fine and unique wine rewarded with a great complexity and designed to wake all our senses.
This is very spicy and smoky, with plenty of toasty and roasted aromas. The palate reveals abundant tannins and oak-related flavors, a faint bitterness and a dry finish.

Sent Me the Wrong Year!
Great except for one thing: I ordered the 2016 and they sent me the 2017. Makes me nervous about ordering again though I suppose anyone can make a mistake and I am hopeful that the 2017 will be comparable to the 2016.
