J.M. Boillot Batard-Montrachet 2018 |
Palish yellow. Highly aromatic scents of yellow fruits, flowers and clove, plus a slightly exotic passion fruit nuance shared by a number of these wines (from the yeasts?). Concentrated and quite tasty, conveying an impression of solidity to the flavors of peach oil, spices and menthol. The most powerful of these '17s, finishing chewy and quite long.
The holding is just on the Chassagne side of the vineyard. Clear brisk pale colour. The nose is wonderfully intense, with an electric energy and freshness to it. A huge weight of quite heady fruit, but nothing unbalanced, a little liquorice in with the white fruit, exceptional intensity at the back, a first class example.
