A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Shiraz and 5% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the 2016 Proprietor's Blend begins with bold dark chocolate-covered fruits with an herbal edge. The nose is ripe with black fruits and blackberry essence. Full-bodied in the mouth, the palate has a ripe attack with a bite at the back of the mid-palate. The Shiraz and the Cabernet may be fighting for attention here. Ending with a long, drawn-out finish, the wine is complex and balanced as it delivers pleasure.
