The 2018 Pommard Les Chanlins 1er Cru, from 17-year-old vines planted on limestone soils, includes 20% whole-cluster fruit with 45% new oak, the same as Les Argillières. This has a stricter, more delineated bouquet, less flattering than the Les Argillières but showing more breeding.
The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. This is well structured and very intense but displays wonderful mineralité on the finish.
