IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the Cru's which, together with Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, is the three-leaf clover that forms the famous Côte des Blancs (the white slope), which produces some of Burgundy's best white wines on the Chardonnay grape. The general perception of the wines from Chassagne-Montrachet is that they require storage and only after a few years show a glimpse of their potential.
Red Chassagne-Montrachet is gradually becoming a bit of a specialty. The wine is elegantly oozing with fresh red fruit and has the most delicious fine tannins. Drink it now or save it for a few years.
