Dense, purpled Ruby- within body.Softly perfumed floral notes head the background of complex red, blue and black fruits and a creamy blueberry muffin character persists throughout the spectrum. A plush length of intensity. Most tannic of its Hickinbotham and Clarendon vineyard counterparts. Interestingly the spice of ginger and white pepper seen in the Clarendon is also apparent on the widely structured and tannic palate. Expressions of violet, dried basil and blueberries intertwine within the finely grained extract. This vineyard was planted in 1925 and is located on the upper belly of a 45 degree hill, which curves from due-east through south-east, to almost due-south. The vineyard was named after its location within the Blewitt Springs area. The mid-hill positioning and the age of these fine vines makes for a true ‘Premier Cru’.
