Chateau Pontet-Canet

The deep, purple-red color is not quite opaque, the darkly pigmented color holds well to the rim. The aromas are quite closed & brooding, but show dark-plum fruit overlaid by cinnamon spice, meaty touches & graphite.

The palate displays open, black-cherry fruit overlaid by graphite & supported by excellent acidity. The oak is very well integrated. The wine is of mid-weight & the very fine tannins are ripe & drying, but not astringent. Alcohol is balanced & the finish long with graphite notes.
