IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

Chateau Le Chatelet vineyard is located on one of the best soil types of the Saint Emilion limestone plateau. The prosperity of this terroir is mainly due to an extraordinary microclimate. On the hills facing the Dordogne Valley, the Chateau du Chatelet vineyard, benefits from an outstanding sunshine, and the positive influence of a moderate coastal climate. With a 3.18 hectares, the wine grown here is rare and very demanded by challenging and faithful customers (from father to son) and by international markets. Because of the tiny production of our winery (less than 15 000 bottles), most of our customers prefer buying wine as futures. Our vineyard is composed of 80% of Merlot; and 20% of Cabernet Franc : perfect blend for a Great Saint Emilion.
Chateau Le Chatelet is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool, almost cellar temperature gives the wine more freshness and lift.

Chateau Le Chatelet is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Chateau Le Chatelet is also good when matched with Asian dishes, rich fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.

Interestingly, Philippe Melka, a well-known winemaker and consultant in the Napa Valley, in California makes a wine from a portion of the Chateau Le Chatelet harvest as well.
