Amirault St Nicolas de Bourgueil Les Quarterons 2017 |
This exceptional red wine from Touraine is made from 30 year old Cabernet Franc vines grown on gravel soils in a warm micro-climate. The colour is an unexpectedly deep purple, and the bouquet combines black fruits and spice. This ripe Cabernet Franc shows the special intense character of old vines, powerful, rich palate, balanced with freshness of fruit and a satisfying finish of lingering autumn fruit.
A stunning biodynamic Loire red, from the sixth generation Amirault family, who have nurtured this estate. From 95% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from older vines, it is a captivating wine of delicate freshness, and lighter body. A real soft red fruit charmer. St Nicholas de Bourgueil is a subregion of Bourgueil in the Loire, which produces particularly delicate, aromatic wines.
