IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

James Suckling 91 points - Lavender, licorice, a touch of dark plums and spices. Fresh and very focused with juicy tannins, generous blue fruit and a plummy yet taut finish. Fresher, early-drinking style of malbec. Drink now..March/2018

Vinous 88 points - (like the Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine spent about eight months in French and American oak): Full ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, dark plum and licorice are complicated by hints of leather and mint. A juicy, spicy midweight that comes across as tighter and drier than the 2017 Cabernet, but despite its modest 12.5% alcohol it also displays a sexy sweetness, not to mention good intensity and sound acidity. Finishes with good cut and length, its firm tannins avoiding dryness.July/2018

Wine Advocate 89 points - The ripe, varietal and fruit-driven 2017 Alamos Malbec is a textbook example of the variety in the Mendoza climate and soil. It is produced in an approachable, clean and fresh style that makes it very pleasant and easy to drink. In reality, it also contains 10% Syrah and 5% Bonarda. A whopping 8.75 million bottles produced!.June/2018
