 93 Points Critic tasting note: "This is the first time that this Achaval Ferrer has launched a 100% cabernet franc, although in the past the grape was included in its Quimera wine or was sold as a varietal in the winery’s shop. In this case, 80% of the grapes are from the Cordón del Plata zone, which neighbors Gualtallary. Planted in 2001, the vines are grown on very rocky soils, and the result of this first experience is a very lively wine with tremendous expressivity marked by the variety’s herbal notes, but with spices and an accent on the pepper and menthol side as well. The palate is pure red fruit, and the texture is fierce. Ask for grilled meats."
